The solar plexus chakra is all about, personal will, self control, self worth and feeling a sense of belonging. When we connected to this inner strength, we find balance and abundance. If you are struggling with stepping into your true potential and lack feelings of confidence this is a great chakra to work with. Lying on your back or in a seated position and place your hands on your upper belly. Taking deep belly breaths connect this chakra by imagine your sending bright yellow light into your belly centre through your hands. Take this visualization as you mindfully breathe into your belly and say the mantra in your mind or out loud. Do this for as long as feels good for you.
There are many ways other ways to help balance out this chakra. Positive affirmations can be a great way to rewrite any traumas held in this chakra. Positive affirmations can be used in meditation practice, placed in a crystal grid or written out on a piece of paper and placed where you see it everyday. Crystals can be used alongside in healing grids or meditation. Orange calcite, citrine and amber are a few that I like to use.
Incorporating more warming food such as ginger, cayenne, or turmeric can help to stimulate this chakra. Add in more yellow fruits and vegetables such as summer squash, bananas, lemons, pineapples, and yellow bell pepper.
Performing energetic belly massage https://youtu.be/yawghHUfPFs on yourself can be very beneficial. Using essential oils such as, lemongrass, ylang, ylang, Lavender or helichrysum can help to support the solar plexus. Lastly, when working with yoga postures, spinal twists can be most helpful. This can be done seated as we see in ardha matsyendrasana, or lying down in using a bolster for support.
Working with the solar plexus can feel really raw at times depending on whether you are working with trauma from verbal abuse. So as always make sure to have compassion and love for the journey and take it slow and mindful as you release any of those heavy energies.
